Manifest: Use The Law Of Attraction, Positive Affirmations, and Gratitude To Manifest Your Dreams

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

We are constantly surrounded by energy and have energy flowing through us at all times. When we're being negative and exchanging ugly, unhappy energy with the universe, the aura around us stays ugly and dark, and our lives suck - it's what we've chosen for ourselves. When we engage with the universe in a positive, belief-filled way, incredible things happen to us - we've manifested what we desire from our lives.

Read all about your mindset to better understand how we can control our thoughts and use them for good. The real keys to mastering your life and your future come from controlling your own mindset and mastering the energy that surrounds us at all times. When you have faith that awesome things come to you and you can maintain a positive, glowing energy (through a ton of time meditating, practicing gratitude, and the methods below), you gain the power to create the life you want. It’s insane. I think Jen Sincero said it best in You are A Badass - “it’s like I’ve finally figured out how to make my magic wand work” (p. 31).

Top 5 Tools to Manifest Awesome Stuff

  1. The Law of Attraction

  2. Gratitude

  3. Affirmations

  4. Mantras

  5. Love Yourself

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is very cool and powerful, and it’s also super easy. It's essentially just the ability to attract what we want into our lives. We can turn our thoughts and beliefs into reality. This is both a really awesome thing and a really dangerous thing. When we focus on negativity and stop believing in our own potential, we stay in a state of doom and gloom. When we focus on positive thoughts and believe we can achieve our goals, our lives will be super wonderful and positive, and we have a much better chance of manifesting everything we desire.

Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, and Jim Carrey swear by the Law of Attraction for helping them become so successful. The Law of Attraction can help you attract money, love, and success, improve your health and mental state, and have more fun. All you have to do is figure out what you really want and ask the universe for it.

Do this through meditation, prayer, and gratitude, and by working hard, trusting in your own potential, and being willing to receive help and grateful for what you’re given. If you work to keep your frequency high and your energy positive and thankful, good things will come. Just don’t forget that it takes hard work and patience too! You deserve to get everything you dream of, though, so it’s totally worth it.

  1. Ask the universe for what you want, and keep your energy, focus, and attention on these awesome goals and desires (not on negativity or harmful/destructive thoughts).

  2. Believe that you will get what you want, and take action to get there. Expect great things to happen, and be willing to put in the work to make sure they do. This won’t always be easy, but if you believe the good results are coming, it’ll help you keep going even when the going gets tough (which it likely will - the universe likes to throw a whopper at us right before we hit it big just to see if we’ll fold - keep going!).

  3. Receive what you want by matching your energy to your desires. When you’re living a high-frequency life and focusing on positivity (and love, generosity, joy, gratitude, etc.), you’ll be rewarded by more awesome energy and positivity.

Practice Gratitude

Practicing gratitude is so awesome. You appreciate what you have now instead of constantly focusing on want, want, want. Begin by expressing gratitude at least once or twice a day, but try to build to the point where you’re constantly living in the moment you’re in and expressing gratitude for the awesomeness that surrounds you all the time. Being in this state of gratitude often allows you to be more aware and appreciative of the incredible things in your life.

Expressing gratitude often will raise your overall frequency and allow you to connect with something bigger than yourself; this helps you be more generous and compassionate, and it allows you to manifest more awesome things for your life and those around you.

Being grateful often makes you so much more positive because you begin to really notice how wonderful your life is. Additionally, expressing gratitude tells the universe that you are loving your life, and that you deserve many more great experiences. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.

Affirmations

I love that quote from The Help (SUCH a good movie), when Nanny Aibileen tells little Mae Mobley, “you is kind, you is smart, you is important.” I’m not going to lie to you, man, that affirmation alone could change our lives. Can you imagine if we just had someone repeating that to us over and over again? Can you imagine if we told ourselves that over and over again? “Katie, you are kind, you are smart, you are important!” Yeah, that’s me yelling it at myself right now, and it feels GOOD.

Affirmations and mantras might feel a bit silly at first, but they actually work. So, use them anyways. Affirmations will help you retrain your brain to focus on positivity. Pick one or two that you really need to hear more often, and say them to yourself all the time - while you’re driving to work, meditating, eating lunch, whatever. Write them on your bathroom mirror, on post-its by your desk, or in the notes section of your phone.

Affirmations can improve so many different aspects of your life. I love to use them to increase my potential for self-love, confidence, and resilience. They make me feel strong and capable, and, if I do them enough, I begin to truly believe what I’m telling myself.

Some of my favorites...

  • I am strong and brilliant and capable of manifesting the future I desire.

  • I will continue to put in the work to make my dreams come true, and I know I can do it.

  • I deserve and receive massive amounts of love all day every day.

  • My heart is open. Love and generosity pour in and out.

  • I am kind and compassionate and able to make the world a little bit better every day.

  • I have such a cute face and I adore my body.

  • I am a good writer, and I believe I can help people better themselves through my writing.

Similar to affirmations, visualization can help you prepare for what you want, just through picturing and imagining it. Some people find incredible success by making a vision board filled with things they want for their future. Some people just picture themselves winning 1st place, living in their dream home, or killing it at their dream job. When we connect imagery to our goals and dreams, and send out that image to the universe, we’re telling it - THIS is what I want, and I’m working my ass off to get it.

Mantras

Chanting and singing have been scientifically shown to calm the nervous system, improve mood and regulate stress responses, and positively change the brain. When you’re selective about what you chant or speak into the Universe, you can focus your mind on your intentions, raise your positive energy, and reach the potential to manifest your dreams.

You can plug mantras in with your everyday meditation practice, write them out, or say them 108 times with some prayer beads. However you use them, take the time every day to practice mantras, raise your energetic vibration, and honor the teachings of Eastern spiritual wisdom.

Top 5 All-Time Favorite Mantras

1) Om

Om is the original mantra. It means the sound or vibration of the universe. It's the single most important mantra. Chanting Om brings us into a calm and balanced state. It helps the mind release restless thoughts and focus on the moment.

2) Om Mani Padme Hum

Om Mani Padme Hum is also a very important Buddhist mantra. It means "jewel in the lotus." This is a way of saying we are all jewels waiting to be uncovered in the mud of self-limitation. This chant helps to unlock the compassion hidden within. It allows you to honor your deepest truth and accept yourself fully. Use Om Mani Padme Hum when you need clarity, calm, or more self-compassion.

"It is very good to recite the mantra Om mani padme hum, but while you are doing it, you should be thinking on its meaning, for the meaning of the six syllables is great and vast." -Dalai Lama

3) Om Namah Shivaya

Om Namah Shivaya means "I bow to that which I am becoming." Shiva represents the inner reality, the truest nature of ourselves. This chant helps to expand the innate wisdom we all carry within us. It's helps rid us of bad habits and ignorance so we can attain true happiness.

4) Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha

Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha means "I bow to Ganesh, the remover of obstacles. I pray for protection and blessing." Ganesh symbolizes the quality within ourselves that can overcome challenging difficulties like negative thoughts or external stressors. This mantra helps affirm your ability to overcome difficulties and can help teach you how to accept defeat or loss.

5) Om Eim Saraswati Namaha Om

This Sanskrit mantra invokes the goddess Saraswati, the powerful Hindu incarnation of Shakti energy in the form of creativity, language, wisdom, knowledge, art, and music. The goddess can help us develop creativity and language. Use this mantra before beginning any new creative endeavor and to enliven your intellectual side.

Love and Believe in Yourself

You’re going to have a hard time achieving your dreams if you don’t believe in yourself and your capacity to get there. Affirmations and mantras can totally help you get there, but you’ll have to consciously work toward loving who you are too. Do whatever it takes to love yourself. Put in the work to exercise and stretch, dress yourself up and do your hair and makeup (if you want to, even if you have nowhere to go), take yourself on hot dates, get massages, use good lotion, drink tons of water, and listen to your body and what it needs.

Use the other sections of this blog to grow, physically, mentally, environmentally, etc. Put in the work to become a person you truly believe in. Keep promises to yourself. When you commit to getting up early to exercise and meditate, do it. Don’t just stay accountable to others. Realize that the way you see yourself matters the most and really truly do whatever it takes to become someone you’re proud of. You absolutely can accomplish awesome, difficult things.

It’s super cool if you take this one tiny step at a time. That’s what most of this blog is about - do 10 minutes of cardio, do 10 minutes of meditation, clean one room, take a bit of time for yourself. Use these tiny habits and 1% wins to, over time, teach yourself that you can do what you set your mind to.

Just Ask for It, and Then Put in The Work

Meditation and time alone, alongside positive thoughts and glowing energy, can help you figure out what you truly want. Quiet your mind of the incessant chatter and listen to your heart and your inner guidance. This takes practice, and you won’t always want to do it, but it will work wonders for your life and your understanding of yourself.

Once you know what you really want and you believe that you can have it, just ask the universe for it. Find some time alone, meditate, practice some gratitude for the great things you already have, and put out your best, most positive energy. Quiet your mind and focus on what you truly want and what it means to you. Believe that it will come, even if you have to fake it at first, and it will.
